No, and it doesn't excuse her for playing to that audience. She related that story because she knew it would strike a chord with her audience and be well received. Never mind that her interaction with the white guy was years ago. It's what she did and said at the speech that shows that's still the way she thinks.

Good riddance to bad racists.
