Hi RIO, ...and I thought this thread was dead. Silly me!

Congrats to both of us. I stopped out at 96 and now am stalking a reentry point. I know you have been a long time short and are finally able to reap the rewards of your position. I agree with you implicitly about the reason for Dell's recent demise - market related. While I'm no TA gure it pretty obvious that the chart is ugly.

However, todays WDC's news bodes well for DeLL. DeLL's business model makes it the most likely candidate to benefit from recent component pricing reductions (memory and hard drives in particular). My sense is that big money participants use DeLL's liquidity to get in and out fast when overall market sentiment is trending down like today. Thus, DeLL is a victim of the market and not business conditions. To tell you the truth, I'm interested in the next earnings report for two other product lines; workstations and server growth. Those appear to be the future fuel that will drive bottom line growth since they are higher margin items (if I recall).
