Germany is an interesting case. I have no problem at all with socialism. If the American people want to vote themselves a cadillac health plan for every citizen, then let's do it. However, I have one requirement. We need to be able to afford it and pay for it. Right now, we can do neither. Responsible governments don't borrow from China to increase entitlement spending for their lazy populace.

If we had a balanced budget, low debt, and could afford to increase entitlement spending, then I'd be first in line to vote for it. But you'll never see me vote for any incremental spending or tax cuts right now. It's plain irresponsible.

When we hit our budget limit at the end of each month, my wife and I don't go out to a big expensive steak dinner. We live by our budget and so should our government.
