You might look up rules for wash sales... they don't apply if you sell for a gain as the government loves getting taxes thus encourages it.

I feel sort of the same about Semi vs semi tools which is why I was considering AMAT for XLNX or maybe more diversification and one of the linear companies, probably LLTC as I like their culture better. Already have enough ALTR.
