James - in the interest of being brief, I will lend my $.02

I do not believe that an ASND/BAY merger would make sense at all.
There are no gaping holes in Bay's product line that aren't already in existence or in the non-disclosure state of development. The GRF is a waste, and Bay's remote access solution is larger and faster(not to mention supports BOTH X2 and K56Flex). Unless Bay is just interested in purchasing market share, or buying the Cascade family and throwing the rest in the Pacific, I really don't see this happening.

I would have to agree with the others that this slap-happy merger talk takes place on thread after thread after thread. It is of little use except to bog down the SI server. I have been loosely monitoring the post-rate on this "DSND" thread, and it's a wonder that the Internet hasn't broken under the strain. Maybe the ASND and COMS thread will go head to head now, for they have a bunch to talk about too. But's it's the same thing over and over again. Some people are requesting floor transfers, while others think that the dip (or dive) is a plot just to weed out the rookies.

Good luck to all
