mQ,re: Speculators are heroes, (contd)....

If somebody tells me my QCOM is worth only $32 a share instead of the $57 it was, I'm indifferent [except that I might buy another Tonka Truckload.

…. Your whiners shouldn't have paid so much for their investments aka houses with debt in many instances

mQ, look at this issues from the perspective of the average family / joe 6 pack who was in the market via his savings plan / retirement plan / kid’s college savings plan, --- not from your perspective as a sophisticated investor / speculator.

…+ Family with teen age kids close to entering college with their mutual fund down 50%-- couldn’t take any more losses and got out,

…+ or, 50 -60+ folks close to retirement, also down 50% and couldn’t take any more losses and got out.

…+ or folks just retired having lost 50% in the equity portion of their nest egg, couldn’t take any more losses and got out--- now having to flip burgers to make ends meet.

…+ the impact on pension funds --- way under funded with “new normal” significantly lowering future rate of return.

..+ Crisis of confidence with Joe 6 pack leaving the market--enabling even more of the market to be controlled / manipulated at the whim of speculators.
