That is, France will annex Wallonia while Flanders will join the Netherlands --with two little provisos regarding the German-speaking cantons between Liège and Verviers, and the capital Brussels, a French-speaking enclave in Flanders. The latter will either end up as a Flemish Jerusalem --and, ultimately, a Dutch city-- or as "Brussels EC"... like Washington DC --a "European District". German-speaking cantons, on the other hand, will likely plebiscit their annexation to Germany --as a 17th Land... After all, they were part of Germany until 1918.

That's what I figured was going to happen. The irony of course is that the EU was supposed to reduce this need for faux nationalism.....and yet, it still goes on. The Catalan cheer España when it wins the World Cup but then the next day they want their independence. It gets very stupid.
