7/23/10 Update
The Bulls managed to take this weekly round and thanks to Momenta’s Friday momentum the Contest median racked up an especially solid gain.
At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Composite Index actually managed to return to the green, although barely, and is now up .01% YTD (vs. down -3.79% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Biotech Index, however, remains down -2.53% YTD (vs. down -5.12% YTD a week ago), while the pumped up Contest median finished the week up 3.62% YTD (vs. down -5.56% YTD a week ago).
Momenta’s surge helped DEWDIL's portfolio (now up 61.99% YTD) almost double its gain for the year, substantially widening its Contest lead. ROCKY’s portfolio (up 41.38% YTD), took over second place from FILO's portfolio (up 36.68% YTD), now in third place. Each of the top three Contest portfolios hold MNTA, with DEWDIL’s initial investment at 20%, ROCKY’s at 15% and FILO’s at 10%. In fact, 7 of the Top Ten Contest portfolios hold MNTA and 13 of the entire 32 Contest portfolios.
At Friday's close, 20 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black and 21 of the 32 were beating the NBI.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables).
Have a safe & fun weekend biotechies!
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
