One of these days, there will be something from the Ag Dept to promote tree planting. Most of my new ones are hanging in. I'm gonna lose a few seedlings which I couldn't get out of their little plastic cones, and planted them in the hope I could keep them alive long enuf for them to split the cone. Also lost a few to some sort of rodent thing, girdling the trunk. Been looking at what I've planted over the years. I don't know if all the trees combined would give me one year of firewood. I've got a lot of work to do. I'm getting a better handle on it. I've found 4 or 5 I can start by rooting hardwood cuttings. I'll have to start doing more, maybe even rooting some in a bed in the garden.
