Iomega And Matsushita Enter Into Zip Licensing Agreement

ROY, Utah, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Iomega Corp announced today the Company has agreed to license
Matsushita Communication Industrial Co., Ltd. of Japan (MCI) to manufacture and sell Zip drives compatible
with Iomega's award winning design.

Under the agreement, MCI is granted a nonexclusive worldwide license to produce Zip drives and sell them
under Matsushita's brand names as well as to OEMs. Matsushita plans to commence production in the fourth
quarter of this year.

"This licensing agreement is significant to our overall strategy of establishing Zip as a worldwide standard
supported by world-class companies like MCI," said Tony Radman, Iomega's senior vice president of strategic
business development. "MCI brings a wealth of experience and a legacy as a quality data storage provider."

MCI is a member of the Matsushita Group of companies and is a partially owned subsidiary of Matsushita
Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. MCI is involved in the manufacture of floppy disk drives, communication
equipment, car electronics, professional audio and video equipment, and other systems. They established
themselves as one of the first Japanese floppy disk drive manufacturers and have been a leader in that
business ever since.
