I've been a Verizon customer for a really long time.
I mentioned in my original post on this thread, when our children become teenagers, they get a cell phone. Well #3(of 5) turns 13 this Saturday.
I went into the Verizon store and purchased his phone yesterday. They only get phone and text, no email or web access, so rather limited on the choices. I "settled on" the Samsung Intensity II.

says they will be a $1 at Best Buy. Verizon charged me $100 with a $50 rebate debit card that I have to send away for........and they also charged me a $25 activation fee.
I called them on the phone yesterday afternoon, telling them I have been a customer for years, blah blah blah.........asking for some sort of consideration...(i.e. cash back, credit, match the Best Buy offer, )...no dice.

And I found something else out that I am not happy about.
You are "limited" to 5 phones with Verizon.
My next son will turn 13 December 2011. I have to open a whole new account with Verizon evidently..........
