Bob, thanks for you kind and interesting post.

No, I don't short often....regrettably so. I have discovered that psychologically and otherwise it is against my character and sentiment. It would probably be embarassing to say why so I will leave it at that. I have a good feel for it though via chart patterns, sentiment and the rubber band rule.

I can totally understand your feeling regarding AMZN....it has a jack in the box quality almost....never know when the market song reaches the point where it just has to go crazy and run up 7 points......:) Like a sleeping lion you think you can safely skoot past (short) and it seems to wake as you silently pass by and it wakes with a roar with you running for all you are worth! (it is what I imagine some of the shorts do in that stock).

My way with stocks is also with patterns. In my short term trading book.....like a cookbook with short term pattern recipes to cook up profits ....:).....it has a great spike and ledge pattern which I find is often- often- often quite accurate with a short term shorting situation and wonderfully elementary and simple versus the longer term head and shoulders.

I am grateful that you mentioned what you have learned and how timely. I was just asking my husband "how to do it" cause of the frustration I have with the uptick challenge.

Actually I think the market could be ready to do some dancing upward cause it is those seasonal three months of advancing combined with money burning the holes in some pockets with funds and the salivation factor. The greed is showing up in the hungry eyes in the fund managers on TV and they missed it the first time and how many times do they think they will get on a nice dip?

BTW do you or anyone else have any strong honest feelings on the DD makers? This bad news and down movement is real isn't it? Do you think the semi's are too? It is not just making bargains like they did with the networkers this summer is it? I can't tell the difference and would like some real help with it----is it live or memorex?

Thanks.

Autumn
