That's why I am willing to go along with deficit spending for a while. We don't want to end up like Japan or the US in the 1970s.

Well.. we seem to be making the same mistakes they did in how that stimulus money is spent on "make work" projects (parks.. bridges to nowhere.. ;0) instead of investing it in productivity enhancing technology and worker retraining.

All the money that has been spent, thus far, has been essentially wasted with no real economic impact.
