It would be hard to convince me of that as well.

"A transfer away from the wealthy" != "the wealthy having less wealth."

If I give you a dollar every day. But I make $1000 a day. Then I double my income my income to $2000/day. I've increased my wealth. And after doing so I am still transferring money to you. If rather than transferring a flat amount, I transfer a percentage, than my transfer to you has increased, even if at the same time your income has been cut in half.

Transfers of wealth are a different issue than the amounts of wealth different people have.
