Does anybody know what the effect of concentrated short-selling is on a particular stock? I am sincerely asking.

CYMI has become a favorite among shorts, it doesn't have to be for any particular reason. However, it seems that concentrated short-selling brings a lot of supply of shares to market everyday that would not ordinarily be there (i.e. people selling what they've borrowed, not what they own). It seems to me that when this goes on for a prolonged period it will necessarily depress the price.

I seem to remember this happening to IOM (not making any comparison between this co. & CYMI, only the market phoenomena). It was a favorite among shorts but not recently. It seems like this "release" has allowed it to trade at a price closer to real supply and demand.
