I don't like it much either. We shouldn't have excessive deference to other religious views and items, and we should recognize the reality that the biggest part of the terrorist threat the US faces is from Islamic terrorists (biggest part but not the whole thing because of eco-terrorists, and a few other smaller movements) but there isn't any good reason to hold events to burn Korans or other religious books. Doing so is just being nasty for no good reason. It doesn't protect Americans. It doesn't weaken terrorist groups, or the influence of radical Islamic thought in the world, in fact it likely strengthens it (if only to a very tiny degree).

With all the political correctness jumping on almost any criticism of branches of Islamic thought it might be a satisfying way to stick a thumb in the eye of the Islamisists and their PC apologists, but I just see it as wrong, and unproductive.

The "Everyone Draw Mohammad Day" idea is a bit better. It doesn't involve destroying anything, and its a direct response to specific threats. Still my thought is "everyone denounce terrorists and Islamo-facists", rather than attacking all members of the faith.
