Are you serious? Implying that he was invited but has decided not to attend. <Or he could have said, "I will not be attending.">

Perhaps the other things you said are true, but it's silly to make up bonus things. Parsing every sentence looking for an excuse to be offended is too much.

For example, here's something of more interest that the colour of his socks <The House narrowly approved a sweeping plan to crack down on offshore drilling Friday, despite objections from Gulf Coast lawmakers and oil industry advocates who said the measure would slash U.S. jobs and curb domestic energy production.

But, in a rebuke of the Obama administration, the House also voted 216-195 to reject its drilling moratorium and lift the ban for rigs that satisfy newly imposed safety and environmental requirements.

Actual livelihoods going down the gurgler because of an absurd drilling moratorium.

He needs a boot on his throat and to be kicked in the ass or donkey and to be fired. At least Congress can reject such stupid ideas as the drilling ban. But it's unnerving that nearly half of them think the ban is a good idea.

They treat Tony Hayward as though he was singlehandedly out to destroy the USA whereas he was actually trying to produce oil safely and profitably. They are the clueless mass hysteria crowd. Now, as was obvious from the beginning, the oil spill has turned out to be a fizzer and not the world's greatest ever calamitous catastrophe.
