Mike,

Never had an experience with a chiropractor, but did with the dentist yesterday. I dunno who these guys think they are but their prices are WAY out of line. I walked out of there with an estimate of about $6K when it was all said and done - and that was going for the least expensive options. As they were talking prices it seemed to be going up and up. One of the things that really bugged me was their quoting of prices. For example, they say that a bridge is about $900/tooth, so you'd think, okay, $900 it is. But what they don't make explicit is that the teeth on either side count as well even though those are healthy teeth.<ng>
I tell ya, I've had it with them. A friend of a friend I talked to a few years ago was gushing at what splendid dental work she had done at half the price down in Costa Rica. The savings easily paid for her travel and lodging. In this case, after checking prices down there I figure on saving $3K after travel expenses. As an example, an implant here costs $3100-$3700 but down there we're talking about $900. And these dentists have the same modern equipment(unlike what I saw once in Mexico) we have here.
If anyone has gone down to Costa Rica(or Panama, Cuba, etc) for dental work either with good or bad experiences I sure would like to hear about the details.
