"A strong middle class is the foundation and backbone of a strong economy and healthy democracy."

Everyone KNOWS this, but that middle class was built with good-paying manufacturing jobs that now reside in China, where it's building THEIR middle class. So what to do HERE, to revive and support OUR middle class?

I'm stumped.
