By the way I am not deeply "religious" as you put it.... I am a christian.... There are no yokes on me :)
Now on a more serious note.
This world and all the glory in it belongs to God, its maker. No where in the word of God does it say that this world it is only 6-7000 years old. "Flesh man" is probably only 6-7000 years old, and this earth "age", but other animals and "life Forms" are millions of years old. So only those who believe that is is only 6-7000 yrs old will have to go back to the drawing board, "the Bible", and read again,,, from the beginning.
The "news" of this rumor if at all true is NOT "news" to God,and it certainly cannot "rock" my Christian faith. The Christian faith is built on Jesus The Christ, He is our "ROCK"... No "discovery" of "rocks" or forms of"life" on other planets, will change who Jesus is or the fact that He died for humanity! And even more importantly resurrected so that we could have eternal life..... Nothing can ever change that fact ever! Nothing!.... ( Not even liiiitttle green people)
This rumor does in fact only give more glory to God, maker of the universe...
My thoughts at this time are that this is just another attempt, by the enemies of God, to "rock" the christian faith. They need to be reminded again though, that our faith is built on Jesus Christ, not Mars, Venus, Pluto, or any other planet, and their findings or lack of findings therein,
As a matter of fact it also strengethens the belief in "creation".
