Recent Comments from CFO on China Growth Opportunity Tom Heckman, CFO of Overland Park-based Digital Ally Inc., said the company has a number of suppliers that use Chinese sources. Digital Ally produces video surveillance products, particularly in-dash police cameras, doing all of its assembly in Grain Valley. “We’re dependent on our contract manufacturers and suppliers maintaining some rational cost to us,” Heckman said. “We continually watch that to see how it progresses in the future. For right now, though, we’re happy.” Heckman said the biggest effect of a burgeoning Chinese middle class and a yuan with stronger buying power is that it creates sales opportunities for U.S.-made products. Digital Ally recently landed a few new sales in China, but it’s still a small percentage of overall sales. “We look for China to be a growth area in the world for us,” he said. “We hope our exports increase as they have more affluence in the country and the number of cars there increases bizjournals.com
