Do we deport people who have forgotten their ID cards? Is this becoming Burma?

this is something that is obviously a very emotional issue. Do you turn away an illegal immigrant who is in need of emergency medical care? I think that the vast majority of people would say "nope, we have to help someone who needs emergency medical care". But we can't ignore the cost either. My solution, send the bill to the government of their country.

I think this is especially applicable to Mexico that as come out against SB 1070. The only reason Mexico would support their citizens being in our country illegally is if there was a financial benefit to them. And the benefit is obvious, Mexico gets to offload its poor who would be a drain on their system. In addition, it is very common for immigrants from south of the border (illegal and legal) to send a very large portion of their earnings home rather than spending it here in the States.
