tejek,

Because he was paying attention.

Let us see if you were paying attention. Or if you know ANYTHING about why Ford did not need to go begging to clowngress with the other two.

I'll give you a hint. The example in this post is a direct clue as to why Ford did not have to go beg for a bailout. Now one simple question, and that is, why did Ford not need to go begging?

On a side note, since Alan took over Ford it is very, very well run. I remember sitting in building Two at Ford about six months after Alan took over with my primary contact for new platforms (this is the guy that can make or break you). My guy tells me, how would you like half the business? I said yes of course and asked what the catch was. The catch was that three die and two grow, as Ford has recognized that having five players in this segment is too expensive and if they want to play Big/Little (a game on awarding business where low volume shit programs are paired with big dollar rainmakers), they can't make it work with five major suppliers.

And, Ford recognized the benefit of putting more concentration of certain types of themed design content with fewer suppliers (details of which I cannot discuss due to NDA). So, this was all Alan and within six months it was clear that the old Ford way was coming back and with improvement. Getting that idiot Bill Ford Junior out of the decision making process was the single best decision that idiot Bill Ford Junior ever made. And I find that funny on so many levels.
