RE: If you care about seeking Muslims who reject terrorism, violence, and extremism
If such a Muslim existed, they would have spoken up by now.
Some of them have. Some of them have fought along side us, or in our military against terrorism and oppression. Others have battled against theocracy and religious oppression in places like Iran, or in other countries were we do not have a military presence, or just made statements denouncing terrorism. Not enough of them? OK, I can buy that point, but "too low of number" is not the same as "zero". They do exist.
So your reply ignores the facts. Also it doesn't make much sense even if your assumed facts are true. Rejecting an idea, doesn't equal speaking up about it. I wish more rejected terrorism, extremism, and oppression, and I wish a larger percentage of those that did reject such things would speak openly, loudly and repeatedly about it. So I'm not saying there isn't any issue here, even once you get past the terrorists and their direct supporters. But it simply isn't true that all Muslims love terrorism, or hate the US, or want theocracy or whatever. |
