Robert and everyone...I have been fascinated with this thread and disappointed by the slow down in postings.. I certainly hope all of you will keep posting...Your imput is greatly appreciated and I am sure that is true for more than just me...

This thread's heading was very approprate considering the date it was started and the fact that we just had another global market downturn.....I'm waiting to see what Monday brings....

In the meantime here is my contribution:

traders.com

The only stock I am willing to stay in has gone up considerably as I expected (And by the way it certainly isn't in the TECH sector -- no dig intended this is just my opinion) ..... So while I'm not completely out of the market, I am being very cautious and will continue watching the whole world wide market closely.

A bargain is only a bargain if it in the end it is worth more than what you pay for it.

While it is true "we buy individual stocks and not the whole stock market", I know you all agree that if you ignore the overall Stock Market .........you do so at your own peril...

.Remember the famous quote or saying....

Those who don't learn from the mistakes of the past and History are condemned to repeat it.

That may not be the exact wording but its the general gist and can serve as a heads up at times like these...and we all need as much help as we can get. Personally, I don't need to learn only from my own mistakes and triumphs....I like to let other people do the learning for me....(grin) As long as I get to reap the benefits of their learning and experiences.....

And no I am not new to the stock market....I've been here long enough to have gotten well past the "I have made a lot of money and am now an expert and know everything" phase. Although maybe that is only because I love to learn and listen to other people's input. That is the only way to actually succeed at anything we do in life.
