David, I don't think the S3 problems will have any bearing on the fab plant going public. The timing of the IPO will depend more on local market conditions in Taiwan than anything else. With the current turmoil in Asian markets they may well decide to delay the IPO to a more opportune time, but who knows. TSMC has dropped abt 20 % since August, which not too bad given the overall hi-tech market. Don't know what UMC has done since. Jan
