sue,

1. Wait for and listen to the AMAT conference call November 20(broken record - some of you remember records?).

2. I am holding AMAT for the long term. My average cost is $16+. I need a good price (110) in 2000-02 for a sell.

3. Before the conference call, the 25-30 range is probably OK for a partial purchase. I will probably add to my holdings at 25.

4. If the AMAT CC call is positive, it will probably be OK to buy at the next morning prices. I am sure there will be a very active discussion of the CC and you will receive more immediate opinions then. The key to the CC is sales and orders for the next 12 months. These must be forecasted to exceed $5B and should reach about $5.6B.

Cary
