Russia sure went through the GD and a deep economic crisis in
the early 90-s... 50% real GDP drop, more than 3 zeroes gained
for the currency (or lost, whatever one prefers -g-). All is
not well at this time, and US corruption is sure pale in
comparison, but yes, things are improving despite that.
