Yes Esteban, There is some administrative costs associated with running the operation. The pay you dividends as if you were holding the S&P 500 also. However notice that this .18% is lower than what Vangard charges! Well Fidelity reduced the fee on its Market index fund to .19% for a limited period of time. This is also veryattractive. Of course, the cheapest thing to do if you have a large enough portfolio is to buy a good proxy of the S&P 500 (i.e., a subset of its stocks) unless you really feel like [and have the $$$] to buy all 500. and just hold... this will only cost you the initial commision, assuming your broker is happy with your non trading.
