Repeat. I was alive then, an adult paying attention to the world and it was horrible period economically. So I was an eyewitness. This shows the misery index by year from 1948 to 2009.

I just realized what's wrong with this chart. It doesn't measure deflation; just inflation. Most economist will tell you that deflation is much worse than inflation. And last year, we had nearly 9 mos of deflation.
