It is just physics. That's probably what bothers you the most.
Also the amount of CO2 is the atmosphere is large enough that additional CO2 does not proportionally increase the amount of net absorption. In the trade this is called "optically thick" and is well known to first year students. It still absorbs more. The real trigger is that a small amount of warming due to additional CO2 can lead to even more warming from a consequent increase in atmospheric water. This is also simple physics and easily computed. What cannot be computed is the political response to a real physical effect. Personally I see no big problem of increased anthropogenic CO2, but then I do not live in New Orleans or Bangladesh.
