The mosque at GZ isn't about freedom of religion. There are mosques all over NY. This is about sticking a finger in America's eye exactly like a shinto temple 500' from the USS Arizona would be. And that doesn't mean anyone disapproves of shinto temples elsewhere. Read the damn article. Wingers are complaining about mosques all over the country. GZ is just another in a long line of excuses. The truth is wingers don't believe in freedom of religion except when it applies to Christianity.
