The only good thing, if there is a Pole shift, is that Doom will get postponed because everything will be reversed, and 2012 will become 2102. People will greet each other with left-hand-shakes, conservatives will become liberals, the Gulag will have to be relocated to NZ, and left-brained thinkers will take up ballet with unforeseen ferocity. :)
