That is a case of your kids choosing degrees that made the employable and your SIL's kids following some twisted version of their hearts. The French degree might qualify her to work in diplomacy or maybe for Gillette. My Accounting degree has never been out of favor and my children's mother's medical technology degree has always been in very high demand.
