You proved my point. Banks are investing in a security that is relatively safe for the short run. They cannot invest in stocks for many of their accounts.

Many retirement account investors have been opting to put their money in government bonds instead of the stock market. Thus the result you describe.

Ouch, Obama has destroyed nearly 1/3 of the household wealth.

You really should be rooting for the Tea Party to succeed in shrinking the growth of government.
