Schools have laid off teachers in significant numbers throughout the year. Senate Democrats fear a delay in state aid could lead to additional firings.

That is not true in every school district. Some are hiring.

Financing school expenses is a local issue. The Federal government has no business in that business.
Every school district is entitled to all the money their customers wish to pay and nothing more.

My school district is adequately financed by my and my neighbors taxes. Why the heck should we pay for someone else's kids in another district or state?
