a. They would have furloughs. They would still have jobs that pay the same per hour, but they would work less hours. Attrition would not be replaced for awhile. That is the Lincoln Electric model and it works.

b. I doubt there would be many tax increases, but lots of fee increases. Drivers licenses, toll roads, bridges, fines, etc.
DON'T get a speeding ticket.

c. Infrastructure would be hit, as usual. Potholes, schmotholes.

d. The other party would be elected in national offices, as the states, especially the poorer red states, need their federal welfare.
