>> New $139 Kindle...

I've been a Kindle reader since they first came out and it was a great improvement over books.

But I haven't touched mine since I got an iPad, nor would I. The Kindle App on the iPad is a far better reading experience for the most part, and the Kindle is just archaic by comparison.

While the e-ink is good, it is more than offset by the flexibility of the iPad. And frankly, the iPad Kindle app is just better functionally than the Kindle is.

It doesn't matter. AMZN still gets the book sales and they're going to win that contest. The iPad may end up being the best thing to ever happen to AMZN's Kindle book sales. AMZN has the network/software infrastructure and that's what is going to make them the winner, not the Kindle hardware.
