I do want NYC to do what New Yorkers want .... the majority NOT the liberal-progressive elite who rules. A majority of New Yorkers are against the mosque. 52%. Hardly a significant plurality. Nearly as many are for it. Non-Muslims had to pay special taxes in order to be tolerated. The Cordoba Caliphate raided the Christian kingdoms remaining in northern Spain, looting them or forcing them to pay tribute to avoid looting. "State-sponsored raids into neighbouring Christian kingdoms were very lucrative throughout the history of the Caliphate. Through the early years, tribute payments were made to Córdoba to guarantee safety. ..... Taxes implemented on Jews and Christians living within the Caliphate were another source of income." LOL. Poor Christians. No one loves them. Your approval of persecution of Christians is noted.
