Jane, many times in history and in scripture God has used the pagans and ungodly to speak wisdom, because He cannot get the attention of His children.

I don't know how christians live without the power.
The storms always come and w/o the power how are we to know whether
the resistance is there and we should pray through it or if God is trying to get our attention and we need to change directions.

Without knowing what God's specific will is "we are saved but lost as a goose"
