Rich, Just want to affirm Shalom's comments. There are accepted versions of the interpretation of God's Word that place the earth at billions of years old. They point to a catathrophy that happened probably millions of years ago when Lucifer lead a rebellion against God. At that time the whole universe was thrown into turmoil and God had to wipe out the first creation of earth. This is called the pre-Adamite existance of earth and the dispensation of angels. So you say that you have never heard of it....Well don't expext Ted Koeppel to broadcast the truth about the Word on ABC. You can go to the bookstore and buy a Dake's bible and the commentary that goes with it called "God's plan for man" The Bible is inspired..the commentary is just that Dake's knowledge and revelation of the Bible. The commentary is not infalible but it is very informative. At any rate rocks and any other discovery like this through history has been proven to need time to be examined. I could give you pages of examples. I'll just give two that you may be familiar with. The Piltdown man was suppose to be the missing link... it was later discovered to be a hoax. The Nebraska man is where they took a tooth and extrapolated a whole religion over. It was the missing link for years only later to be discovered to be a pig tooth. This could go on and on but it wouldn't change the fact that Jesus is the King of the Universe and if there were people on mars then Jesus died so they could be reconciled to God too. Just like on earth. Peace and wisdom
