I know you think ARM performance is good enough to rise, but most others including myself disagree. Each time I run into ARM, its performance is lacking, even the high performance dual cores against low level x86 products and even 1GHz Semprons or Geode NXs (K7 based). Case in point was a 640x480 LCD ARM (1GHz Cortex A9 Dual Core) based X-Server which was slower than a 400MHZ K6-3 doing the same job which is a 12 year old CPU manufactured on a 250nm process. So you can see ARM has a long way to go to catch up to even entry level x86s much less x86-64s. Bobcat will run circles around ARM so it will place a cover on how high ARM can go. And Ontario's APU will take down most 2D and 3D chips used in entry level laptops and below including all ones used with ARM.

As for Nvidia rising from the ashes, they have two years before a real refresh to their costly, underperforming and power sucking Fermi can be made. The only real question there is how fast will they sink?
