That really is sad, and I'm sorry to hear it. On that topic, I just watched the free teaser episode of The Big C. It's a new ShowTime series starring Laura Linney (whom I love deeply) as a woman who discovers she has terminal cancer, and decides to turn her life upside down. It's beautifully acted, interestingly written, and has a number of good moments, both funny and sad. Mostly funny. The only thing that bugged me about it is that it's an exploration of what happens to a person who discovers she has only a short time to live, while evidently sitting on a large pile of cash. That aspect is a bit tough to relate to, given my present circumstances. But I still enjoyed it. Yes, I realize this isn't the Books, Movies thread.
