Personally, I think it was a trumped up charge, and one planned by Mrs FDR in the 1930's. She always wanted a cause, just like Obama. She "found" one. Most people today don't realize that ALL Of DC was segregated then. It was against the law to have integrated audiences in public auditoriums. If Mrs. FDR really wanted a cause, why didn't she take it upon herself and desegrate DC AND the entire country??????
Someday, if you are interested, look at the actual dates and documents available on the National Archives website. There was 6 weeks difference between the MA event and the Lincoln Memorial event, and there was NO internet, barely any phone system, no TV, no airplanes for public transit, no autos that were speedy, and the DAR volunteers are just that....volunteers scattered all over the country. And yet, magically, with no major means of communication like we have today, 75,000 people (they say) just showed up at the Lincoln Memorial.
IMO, this was a long, preplanned event created to cause a crisis. Just like Obama has. BWDIIK? |
