My general rule is that whenever the option holder can get more for selling the option than he can for exercising it, it should be safe. Dividend paying stocks with upcoming x-div dates complicate matters but that doesn't effect AMD. I'm surprised that AMD didn't hold $7 during this option period. I think this semis selloff is over done. My Intel spies tell me that Internally things still look bullish. AMD should draft off that.

If I'm still in danger on my AMD Puts come October I'll start rolling out and down with an eye to getting out. Big dangers coming up. Another bulldozer delay is very possible. Major uArch change on a new process that is already having major problems. Other than Intel, no one has shipped a 32nm product AFAIK and nobody has shipped a HK-MG product on any geometry. Pulling that all together with a new uArch on a foundry process you don't control is very high risk.
