I think parents are every bit as important as teachers in a child's education. The two job family has hurt the time parents can spend with kids on their homework and at their schools. Some parents overcome this problem and beat education into the kids' heads, anyway.. Some kids overcome the scarcity of parental supervision and study like banshees, anyway. But most do not.
