Jeff/Atin: I'll try to give an overview of the past couple of weeks and my current short holdings. Without consideration of the continued holdings, on 10/27 I shorted ASYT ANST ICST LCOS SMTC SPCT. I covered LCOS (+12.1%) & SMTC (+3.3%) on 10/28; also covered previous holdings of ANEN (+10.8), DELL (+6.8%), JBIL (+12.2%), SMOD (+23.3%), VECO (+25.3%). Then on 10/29, covered DATM (+30.5%). Nice returns, but the market took money away because all of these were caused by "trailing stops."
On 11/3 I shorted ORBKF PESC YHOO and the same day covered ASYT (+3.0), ICST (+2.1%), LSS (+9.9%), ORBKF (-11.6%--largest short loss to date). Also on 11/3, I shorted DSPG which has gained +5.5% as of Friday's close. I covered CMOS (+33.2%), SNDK (+16.3), YHOO (-11.5%) on 11/4.
Current other holdings (besides DSPG) are PESC (-6.8%), PLXS (+13.6%), SPCT (+12.8%). Okay, but not the same levels as earlier.
Current long portfolio is a mixed bag. After tallying the numbers, last week was actually better on the short side than it felt like as I watched it during the week. But, ORBKF & YHOO hurt since they were such quick losses. This next week should be very interesting.
Considering Friday was a somewhat significant down day, the short candidate list may grow in number above that of the last two weeks. The watch list is large, but the second signal hasn't happened for most of the high flyers.
BTW. . .I told Myron that some of us over here are the "Submarine 99ers" and that we watching his "99ers" for good shorts. (g) Myron seems like good people to me, and he's interested in shorting the 99ers also. Have you noticed the number of posts on his thread? Unbelievable! There may very well be some validity to their approach. They are looking for the confirming signals to add to the RS=99.
Hope this helps.
