WGBS the next Illumina?

Anyone remember when Illumina was at a dollar? I do, that's when I bought it (glad I did). If you missed that boat, another might be coming- a sleeper called Wafergen Biosystems (WGBS) in the wings. Same industry, but they have a huge tech edge with their Smartchip platform- higher throughput, lower cost, higher margins. They just announced commercial release Aug 4th, and stock jumped 4x's in volume and gained 17% in ONE MONTH. Sound familiar? Think Illumina, May of '04. Volume jumped from 90K to 1.9million in Jan '05. The gain was $.95 to $4.6.

Why do I think Wafergen's going follow Illumina's trajectory?

Check out their volume increase: finance.yahoo.com/q?s=wgbs.ob. As a bonus reason, the CEO just bought 800K shares. I think this companies is going to get some serious market share, and may be an acquisition target in the short term. Illumina's purchase of Helixis at 6.3x's investment signals that the big three are looking to smaller companies to fill their product gap and save them R&D. That could give WGBS a huge upside. WGBS is worth tracking. I'm hoping for another Illumina. Happy investing! :)
