The earnings were 98c in line with the company's forcast on sep. 29.

What is worthy to note is that the company is planning to expand in many new locations which will grow the company considerably. The company just announced expansion into the Louisville, San Diego, and Chicago areas . Also announced was its approval into the vast China market next year. As one of the top USA insurers and with S&P OUTSTANDING rating in strength, many firms and agencies will consider AETNA as the choice to go.

On Fri with the market crashing Aetna traded strong.

A few notes:

a) Many institutions were loading up on these shares in the last few weeks. Some were rotating their assets out of some tech issues to diversify into more stable sectors, especially those with potentials for growth.

b) Aetna has reiterated in its conference call its projection for 98 as very good with modest growth.

c) Aeta has also confirmed it bought back 4.8 mil. shares and will buy back an additional 7.5 mill.

d) There is talk of some very positive announcement in the near future of which I have no details.

E) you do have a strong balance sheet with $82 book value.

f) At current price it trades 14x projected 98eps. one of the best in the industry.
