Storm clouds looming. Just finished checking inventory level. SEG's slowly washing through their dumping. QNTM is a bit large on the low-end, but everything looks okay. But guess who's the new aggressor? That's right... WDC! If you were wondering how they are managing 7.3-7.5 mln units this quarter, it's because they are stuffing the channel and pricing aggressively. My perspective has changed completely. Ignore their whining about Fujitsu and pricing pressure at the low capacity points. WDC is the one that's pushing down prices at 6.4G! No wonder they're trying to cut back APM's 1.7G program... they're pricing the 2.1G at the same level. May you live in interesting times. Nota bene to Larry: I'm really considering shorting APM. In additions to the alternatives to pure shorting that I've listed, you can also buy deep in the money puts.
